MOBO Award-winning rapper DC3 is back with a new single, ‘Kunta In UK’, a song centred around his upbringing in the UK, race and some of the challenges he experienced growing up.

The young rapper has had quite a year, winning both Best Gospel Act and Best Newcomer at the 2026 MOBO Awards, becoming the first artist to win both categories in the same year.

‘Kunta In UK’ takes its title from Kunta Kinte, the central character in Alex Haley’s Roots: The Saga of an American Family.

Speaking about the song, DC3 said, “We all have different colours yet bleed the same,” before sharing that ‘Kunta In UK’ touches on his upbringing in the UK and challenges he faced during his childhood.

The song comes with an almost six-minute music video directed by Ade ‘Adelight’ Adesina.

DC3 said the concept for the visual came from God and was inspired by a vision to tell some of his own experiences with race through film. The video moves through a number of scenes built around the subject while DC3 tells his story through the song.

Stormzy also makes an appearance in the visual. Speaking about having him involved, DC3 described it as an honour and called Stormzy an inspiration, adding that he understood what DC3 was trying to communicate with the record.

‘Kunta In UK’ has also made its debut on the Official UK Christian & Gospel Singles Chart, becoming DC3’s second solo song to appear on the chart following ‘Holy Boppin’.
