Maxine Brooks, Choir Director of the Birmingham Community Gospel Choir, has shared her most recent song, bringing her usual message of hope, inspired by her faith in knowing that together we will get through these lockdown times. This positive take on encouraging others is ringing out to say we are going through a lockdown but we are not locked up!’
With thousands of plays across social media the groovy beat and upbeat message is continuing to resonate as Maxine reminds us of the “…many heroes have risen up to help, no mask can hide the love in their eyes.”
We caught up with Maxine this week and as always there was just sheer joy in even having a conversation. I couldn’t contain my laughter as she recalled the recording and the many moments of delight and ‘vocal anointing’. Not just do we need more songs that speak out of our faith but we need more Maxine Brooks in the world, to inspire us to share joy and love and hope!
