‘SMILE, when they try to break you down,’ is the upcoming single this World Mental Health Day from energetic and well-loved Manchester-based artist, Lily-Jo. ‘SMILE’ will be available across all digital platforms on Friday 11th October 2019.
This year Lily-Jo has extensively toured the UK and the USA, with 2019 being the biggest year to date for the unstoppable artist. By the end of this year Lily-Jo will have stood in front of over 30,000 young people delivering her positive message in schools up and down the country, with emotional well-being and mental health being at the fore.
Lily-Jo’s brand new single SMILE is right on brand with her consistent message of freedom. As well as being an artist, Lily-Jo is a qualified counsellor and spent five years working in the NHS. Back in 2016 she founded The Lily-Jo Project which is an online mental health resource with information, top tips, podcasts and blogs all around the subject of overcoming mental health concerns. “I wrote the song SMILE with Saint Louis who I toured with back in 2016/17 when we were both members of popular EDM band LZ7. The song is an anthem of encouragement for anyone who is being bullied, or who has been through bullying. Bullying is totally unacceptable and is the cause of many mental health issues. When we go into schools we make sure young people know how important it is to build each other up, rather than tear each other down. It’s important that we not only look after our own mental health, but also the mental health of each other by speaking words of life.”
‘SMILE’ will be available across all digital platforms on Friday 11th October 2019.
