Another week, another Official UK Christian & Gospel Singles Chart, and KUMBAYA by JERUB is still holding the No.1 spot. The song now marks 11 weeks on the chart, making it one of only three songs to have stayed on the chart for 11 straight weeks without dropping out, alongside ANCIENT OF DAYS / OPEN THE EYES OF MY HEART by CalledOut Music and IN THE MIDDLE by Annatoria.
The support behind KUMBAYA is clearly not slowing down, with listeners still streaming, buying and keeping it firmly at the top. The same can also be said for IN THE MIDDLE by Annatoria and ANCIENT OF DAYS / OPEN THE EYES OF MY HEART by CalledOut Music. Although both songs have continued to shuffle around the Top 20, staying on the chart for 11 straight weeks is no small thing. It points to strong and consistent streams, buys and support from UK listeners.
The Top 10 comes with a bit of a shake-up this week. While the first four songs hold their positions from last week, two new songs enter straight into the Top 10 and one re-entry also makes its way back in. That mix of stability at the top and fresh movement below it makes this week’s chart interesting to watch.
There are also new entries shaking up the Top 10 this week. LOVE OF MY LIFE by McClure, Smith and McClure enters straight at No.5, while GUIDE ME II by Culture Cnnct and Soundsdubetter comes in at No.7. Both songs going straight into the Top 10 is one of the biggest talking points this week.
PEACE by Hunnid2Hebron and Deca Ota moves down to No.6, while PSALM 51 by Chantelle Rutendo re-enters the chart at No.8. ANCIENT OF DAYS / OPEN THE EYES OF MY HEART by CalledOut Music moves to No.9, and COLE PALMER by Limoblaze, DC3 and Andy Mineo rounds off the Top 10 at No.10.
Another point to note this week is Chantelle Rutendo’s continued strong presence on the chart. With THERE’S THIS KING THAT I KNOW at No.4 and PSALM 51 re-entering at No.8, she once again has two songs inside the Top 10. That consistency has become one of the regular patterns of the chart.
Further down the chart, I KNOW THE HEALER by Dave Bell enters at No.20, adding another fresh entry to this week’s Top 20. THIS GOD by Min. Adeoluwa drops to No.13 after holding a Top 10 position for four weeks in a row, while SON OF SUFFERING by Bethel Music and David Funk sits just outside the Top 10 at No.11.
Looking across the Top 10 and the chart as a whole, there is still a strong blend of sounds, from worship and congregational music to Afro-influenced and modern gospel expressions. The chart continues to show what listeners across the UK are streaming, buying and engaging with.
