Indie-Folk duo Our Atlantic Roots release new single ‘I Do’ on 10-year wedding anniv

Transatlantic, husband-wife duo, Our Atlantic Roots, has already shown that big things can be achieved as a fully independent artist. They have millions of streams under their belts, sat on some of Spotify’s top editorial playlists and they’ve grabbed the attention of industry professionals like Nashville hit songwriter Mark Cawley and British folk patriarch Geoff Lakeman, with their captivating songwriting and vocals. Now, they are hoping to pull on the heartstrings of anyone who loves a little romance, as they release their single ‘I Do’ on their 10-year wedding anniversary this April.

“There’s no denying that this is a very romantic and sweet indie-folk song, but it is also honest; referencing the tension and difficult moments in a relationship too. It was written just after an argument a few years into our marriage. At the start of our relationship, we made the decision to try and not let the sun go down on our anger (as hard as that is sometimes!) and to choose to say ‘I Do’ every day, when it’s easy and when it’s hard. There are a lot of break-up songs out there … this is a ‘make up’ song! Ultimately, the song is about commitment. We hope the lyrics resonate with people in all seasons of a relationship, but if you do happen to be getting married in the near future, definitely consider this as one to add to your wedding playlist!” – Laura Johnston

‘I Do’ was recorded at Cube Studios in Cornwall, produced by Matt Cotterill and mixed by Dan Millice in New York City. Connect with Our Atlantic Roots on Facebook | Instagram || Download/Stream I Do
