IDMC Gospel Soul Choir are back with a brand new release titled ‘My Joy’. Choir member and press officer Teressa told us, “These past few months have been challenging for everyone, and we hope that you are all safe and healthy amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. We feel extremely fortunate to be able to release this feel-good track, to help uplift your spirit”.
The new single premiered at the We Sing U Sing UK virtual festival, on the 2nd of July following which John Fisher (founder of IDMC) received a Certificate of Acknowledgment from the Mayor of Croydon for his work through music in the community and at large. This year marks 26 years of IDMC music and 12 years of We Sing U Sing UK school projects so massive congratulations to John and the team!
‘My Joy’ is an up-tempo, dance track inspired by Nehemiah 8:10, which reminds us that no matter what we face, the Joy of the Lord is our strength.
The quarantine style music video features appearances from many well-known UK creatives including Cliff and Marie Reid, Anu Omideyi and Ken Burton, along with Howard McCalla of Tropical Radio to name a few.
