On February 21st, Encounter: I AM was an unforgettable night of worship, creativity, and divine encounter with God at Warwick Arts Centre. From the very first moment, it was evident that this wasn’t just a performance—it was an atmosphere charged with the presence of the Holy Spirit, touching hearts and transforming lives.
The evening featured an incredible lineup of guests who brought both energy and depth to the stage. Tidez set the tone with his rap performance of Steeze, a song that had the audience engaged and moving, as well as Weep, a song that touched on the struggles of what we sometimes face in our walk with Christ and how we can lean on God especially in those times. Jugg followed with latest release ‘Breakthrough’, in collaboration with Warwick Gospel Choir, every lyric resonating with those believing for their own breakthrough, Jugg even blessed us with a new verse tailored for the night!. Emmanuel Smith led the congregation into a space of intimate worship before shifting into a time of powerful praise, his infectious energy led to a joyous, spirit-filled end to the night.
Outside of musical guests, Encounter: I AM showcased the power of spoken word, dance, and drama in expressing faith. Tolani and Ogor delivered thought-provoking spoken word pieces that cut straight to the heart, using their words to challenge, encourage, and uplift. Ogor’s piece titled The Victor’s Crown and Tolani’s…The dance performances brought another dimension to the night, visually representing the beauty of surrender and worship, dancing to songs such as Father Stretch and Psalms 23. Meanwhile, the drama performances struck a chord with many in the audience with each individual character having encountered God in their own personal way; whether that be as a provider, a healer, a father or a friend. Last, but certainly not least; Warwick Gospel Choir. WGC alongside their amazing band tied everything together, full of energy they ministered through song and gave many gospel classics a modern twist. From songs like ‘Kumama Papa’ to ‘Friend of God’ all genres of gospel were explored. The blend was blending and the notes were hitting!

From start to finish, Encounter: I AM was more than a performance, it was a blend of artistry and anointing. Whether through music, spoken word, dance, or drama, the name of Jesus was lifted high, and the Holy Spirit moved freely. For many, this wasn’t just an event; it was an experience—one that stirred faith, ignited passion, and left everyone with a deeper revelation of who God is.
Warwick Gospel Choir’s first event of its kind would not have been possible without the help of AStepFWD or IATL Warwick.
