This year, the Evangelical Alliance marks the fifth anniversary of the One People Commission at the Emmanuel Centre in Westminster on Wednesday, 21st November. Evangelical Alliance are fully committed to working together to see a more unified, integrated, and diverse church across the UK, which is why they established the One People Commission (OPC) in 2013.
Spearheaded by director Yemi Adedeji, this network connects hundreds of church leaders from a diverse range of black and ethnic minority churches and seeks to prove that, for both church and community, integration is possible and diversity is good!
The event, which will be full of worship, stories, song, testimonies and interviews, will gather together representatives from the OPC as well as welcome new members on board. The EA will be launching new buildings resource as part of the evening as well as profiling the newly published book “Simply Eat” as part of the South Asian Forum (SAF) and greatcommission.co.uk.
Whatever our country of origin, language or ethnicity, Jesus calls us to be one people, unified together for His mission.
You are invited to share in an evening together, praising God for growth in unity across the church that has be witnessed over the last five years, but also to extend the vision further into the coming years. Yemi Adedeji said, “This event celebrates that unity across all aspects of the church is possible if we are intentional about it. Whatever our country of origin , language or ethnicity, Jesus calls us to be one people, unified together for His mission. We need to lead by example and show the rest of the world that integration of our ethnic differences is possible.”
This is a significant moment in the life of the Evangelical Alliance and the journey of the One People Commission. So if you are a church or ministry leader, involved in a network of churches, or just starting out in hoping to increase the missional outreach of your church – be there on 21st November to celebrate and prayerfully move forwards together.
