One of the latest submissions to the September listing of the UK Christian Chart is ‘Burn’ from Danny O’Callaghan’s debut EP titled Son Of My Father. The London based singer/songwriter has been involved in leading worship in local churches for over 15 years and currently calls Kings Cross Church (KXC) home. This year, Bono famously said that he is longing to see worship music that is more honest, songs that like the Psalmist David, are “brutally honest about the explosive joy…and the deep sorrow or confusion.” Bono’s request may well be answered in the debut EP from the David’s Tent Worship Director, Danny O’Callaghan. Speaking about his debut EP, Danny said, “My heart is for worship music to become more honest! The EP is a story of a lost soul being found in his Father.” He went on to explain, “This project has been something I’ve been dreaming about for the last 15 years. But in the last 2 years, it’s become a reality. With the help of generous donations from my crowd funding campaign, and the support of my friends and family, I’m able to release my debut EP this summer. My heart is for worship music to become more honest! The EP is a story of a lost soul being found in his Father. It’s a shaking off from religion, false expectations and wrong ideologies about who our God is. Finding that actually He is a Father with such deep love that He passionately paid everything for relationship with His children. My prayer that you would hear the voice of your Father speak to you through the sounds of this EP.” Son Of My Father has already gained support from Bethel Music artists Jonathan David and Melissa Helser. The links to the North Carolina worship artists doesn’t end with their vocal support for Danny’s first solo offering. The EP’s producer is Elijah Mosely, the man behind the sounds of some of the most exciting names in the worship world, including Jonathan David & Melissa Helser and John Mark MacMillan. Danny has previously been featured in worship compilations and participated in multiple events around the UK and Europe. He also has an ever growing ground-swell of support from the hundreds if not thousands of worshippers who have been blessed by his worship leading and song writing. The EP was recently made available at David’s Tent where Danny led worship on the main stage alongside Bethel Music artists, Amanda Cook, Steffany Gretzinger, Jeremy Riddle, Jonathan & Melissa Helser, and Sean Feucht as well as legendary UK worship leader Martin Smith.
