CeCe Winans has released the official music video for ‘Great Is Thy Faithfulness’, another hymn from her album, The Hymns.
One thing about the hymns on this album is that each one carries its own beauty. Most of them have that calm and simple feel, with the piano not doing too much, just following CeCe Winans’ voice with the chords and allowing her to express the hymn fully.
But ‘Great Is Thy Faithfulness’ has another kind of lift to it. It still keeps that simple and calm sound, but the modulation that comes in twice gives the song a beautiful rise, especially around the chorus.
The ending part of the hymn also adds something special musically. It gives the song a fuller sound towards the end and brings everything together in a beautiful way.
The hymn itself is already one of those songs that speaks deeply about the faithfulness of God, His mercy and how constant He remains in every season. CeCe carries it with her signature voice, allowing the words to settle while still giving the song the lift it needs as it builds.
For me, ‘Great Is Thy Faithfulness’ remains one of the best hymns of all time, and this rendition gives it another beautiful expression without taking away from the heart of the hymn.
