Becca Folkes is the latest announced guest artist for StepFWD Awards 2023

BECCA FOLKES won the prestigious Lavine Hudson Award for Vocal Excellence last year and we’re excited to announce that Becca will be a special guest performer at this year’s StepFWD Awards, joining Lou Fellingham and Emmanuel Smith. StepFWD Awards is the UK’s definitive Christian and Gospel music awards taking place on Saturday 11th November at South London’s largest arts centre, Fairfield Halls, Croydon. Becca is pictured above (middle) receiving the award from the previous recipient Lurine Cato MBE and the late Lavine’s brother, Tim Hudson.

Multi-award winning artiste Becca Folkes, is a Christian singer/songwriter hailing from Essex. Growing up in COGIC, Becca has been involved in choirs and musical presentations, leading to her becoming very familiar with moving crowds through song. Newly signed to Minstrel Records in Canada, Becca ministers around the world testifying of God’s healing power, and through her truth, she aims to free others who have been through the same and/or similar traumas. From songs like ‘Control’ that have crossed a million streams, to recent releases like ‘Baba’ that has been covered by several fans on the internet, Becca continues to release music with lasting impact, as one of the front runners of her generation. As well as recently becoming a member of the exciting new group, Manor Collective, Becca is wrapping up her first album “EXODUS”; an album depicting the various pinpoints of her journey with God. Wherever the platform, Becca WILL exalt the name of Jesus.

StepFWD Awards is inspired by Romans 12:10: “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour.” The main focus is just that – showing honour to those blessing us with their musical giftings – without leaving anyone out. Expect to see new and current artists celebrated alongside those who have contributed for decades oftentimes never receiving the recognition deserved. Their combined efforts have created the diverse and lively faith-inspired music scene we have in the UK today – Song of The Year nominees alone span twelve categories across numerous genres!
