BeBe Winans adds Korean Soul to 60th Birthday Celebration in London

The latest addition to Benjamin “BeBe” Winans‘ 60th Birthday Celebration in London this 16th September is Korean Soul, the gospel group that wowed global audiences with their rendition of R&B classic “All My Life” during their audition on the 16th season of “America’s Got Talent” in 2021. This however was not the first time Korean Soul had gained international recognition. It was in fact BeBe Winans who, having spotted their talent back in 2018, flew out to Korea to meet the four friends that make up this unique gospel quartet – Sooyong Yoon, Shyun Lee, Jifan Lee and Young J. As a result BeBe recorded the single ‘Laughter Just Like a Medicine’ in collaboration with Korean Soul, facilitating their first wider introduction to the world.

Korean Soul combines incredible vocal talent of beautiful harmonies with the depth that comes from performing music with a gospel message: “We want to bring love, joy and hope to people around the world and move their hearts through our music,” says Young J.

Fittingly, Korean Soul will be joining BeBe on stage at his 60th Birthday Celebration adding yet another world class act to the already incredible lineup of the show. The previously announced artists include BeBe’s talented sibling, the legendary Marvin L Winans and multiple Grammy, Dove and Stellar award winner VaShawn Mitchell, who was confirmed just last week. Another artist gracing the stage on the night is musical legend Karen Clark Sheard, whose story was turned into biographical screenplay “The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of Gospel” (2020), charting the history of how Karen and her sisters rose from obscurity to become the highest selling gospel music group in history.

And if your head isn’t already spinning from these prospects, there is yet more! Donnie McClurkin, another Grammy award winning gospel artist known for his groundbreaking “Live in London” album, will also be performing. London Community Gospel Choir, with whom BeBe has a long-standing association, will join him on the night to perform a cover of Luther Vandross’ inspirational hit ‘Power of Love/Love Power’ almost thirty years after it was first performed at the Royal Albert Hall. Not one to be missed, the evening is truly set to provide an unparalleled musical experience.

BeBe, also of BeBe & CeCe fame, is himself a six-time Grammy Award Winner, multi-platinum selling artist and songwriter, has a history of celebrating his birthdays in grand style, holding concerts for his 45th and 50th in New York, with star studded casts, filled with popular and gospel singing legends as well as Hollywood A-listers. His previous birthday concerts have attracted iconic performers such as Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Quincy Jones and Dionne Warwick to mention a few.

Reaching the age of 60 is considered in some cultures as having completed a full life cycle, BeBe is set to celebrate his diamond birthday in style as he looks to the next chapter. This may very well be the biggest gospel celebration of recent times in the UK and you’re invited!
