Samantha Radford is a PR and communications professional with a special interest in supporting individuals to step fully into their creative giftings. As Head of Communications for AStepFWD, a multimedia platform that hosts the annual StepFWD Awards and collaborates with the Official Charts Company to produce the weekly Official UK Christian & Gospel Singles Chart, she has many opportunities to do just that.
Samantha was first introduced to AStepFWD founder O’Neil Dennis in 2022 at a concert celebrating Graham Kendrick’s 50 years in Christian music. She had just launched her own PR consultancy, Geber Communications, and handed over her card, offering to support AStepFWD where possible. Dennis responded, “An answer to a prayer!” As it happened, the previous PR lead had just stepped away, and within a fortnight Samantha came on board as PR Manager.
Alongside her role at AStepFWD, Samantha also hosts The Variety Show weekly on Feferity Radio, a culturally diverse Brixton-based station that celebrates music and creativity. Her show gives her another platform to spotlight talented Christian and Gospel artists, as well as other creative projects, through interviews and playlisting.
Beyond her work in media, music, and communications, Samantha also carries a unique personal ministry supporting people who have left a cult background. Until August 2020, she belonged to the Jehovah’s Witnesses Organisation, a closed religious group she was born into as a fourth-generation member. It is uncommon for people to leave such environments, as doing so often means the complete loss of family and friends. Samantha now identifies as a supernatural Christian, recognising God’s hand in all that has taken place in her life, especially in her personal liberation. As she puts it,
“AStepFWD has been a huge blessing in meeting incredible people of faith that have helped me greatly in adjusting to my new life in Christ and staying active.”
Samantha also runs a YouTube channel called Faith Hope Future, created especially for individuals who, like her, have left the Jehovah’s Witnesses Organisation but still hold on to faith in God. For the past four years, she has also organised monthly ex-JW London meetups for people who have left for whatever reason, helping to build a supportive and inclusive community shaped by shared experiences.
Born in Finland to a Finnish mother and British father, Samantha moved to the UK at 18 to study and, somehow, never quite made it back except for holidays. She is also the proud owner of two very spoiled little dogs who keep her on a short leash.
