Philippa Hanna Releases ‘Let The Body Sing’ Ahead of Magnificent

In preparation for her new album Magnificent with Israel Houghton, Philippa Hanna drops another song from the line-up, ‘Let The Body Sing’, a live worship song centred on the King who died, rose from the dead, and is coming back again.

The song opens with an instrumental section that sets the foundation before Philippa comes in, giving the room time to settle into the sound. From there, it moves into a clear call for the body of Christ to sing to the Holy One.

The message is rooted in the gospel. It speaks of freedom, the cross, resurrection life, and the hope of the returning King. This is not just a song about singing together, it is a song about why the Church sings in the first place.

The chorus keeps things simple with “Hallelujah, amen / Hallelujah, oh / Let the body sing amen”, making it easy for people to join in. That simplicity works well because the focus stays on praise without too many words.

One of the highlights comes towards the end, where it almost feels like the song is over. There is a brief silence that gives the room space to take in what has just been sung before Philippa comes back in with a call-and-response moment, lifting the song into another place.

That pause adds to the atmosphere. It does not feel empty. It feels intentional, almost like a moment for worshippers to breathe, reflect and respond before the song rises again.

Another beautiful part is the male vocal with a special effect on the voice. At first, you hear it sitting in the background, coming in once in a while and adding something lovely to the sound. It makes you want to hear more, and just when you think the experience is closing, that same voice comes forward as a solo to finally bring the song home.

Philippa Hanna leads with warmth and strength, while the live band gives the song a full worship atmosphere. The result feels less like a performance and more like an invitation for the whole body to sing.

‘Let The Body Sing’ is now available to watch on YouTube, as Philippa Hanna continues to build towards the release of Magnificent.
