AStepFWD is excited to welcome Sarah Boadi to lead its poetry and spoken word arm POETIC UK as Programme Manager. Sarah is a London-raised, Milton Keynes-based spoken-word artist, creative facilitator, and community practitioner whose work is shaped by purpose and people. She is known for creating thoughtful, sensory-led experiences across education, charity, community, and corporate spaces, using creativity to connect with people and create room for reflection.
Over the years, Sarah has served AStepFWD in different ways, and she now steps into the role of Programme Manager for POETIC UK. The initiative was created to support, showcase, and send Christian poets and spoken-word artists across the UK and beyond. It is a role that fits naturally with the journey she has been building – one rooted in creativity and a genuine heart for people.
Her work has extended across organisations such as Arts Council England, Kiln Theatre, Sound Connections, The Sitdown UK, and Hope City Church Milton Keynes. She has co-written and performed a touring forum theatre production that reached more than 1,200 students across South London. She has also supported national spoken-word programmes, contributed to arts and education research, and helped deliver creative projects in schools, hospitals, and community spaces.
What stands out in Sarah’s journey is the way she carries poetry beyond the stage. For her, spoken word is not only about performance. It is about creating space, and stirring thought all whilst helping people engage with truth, with emotion and their lived experience in an honest way. That same heart now shapes her work through POETIC UK.
“I’ve known Sarah for years, and one thing that has always stood out is her amazing energy and intentionality. She has been involved in lots of our trailblazing activities, such as Poets in Autumn London tours, the Word Network and the Poetry / Spoken Word category within the UK Christian Charts. Sarah is a joy to work with and a really fun person to be around. On top of that, POETIC UK needs someone who understands both the art and the people behind it, and Sarah is exactly that person.” – O’Neil Dennnis, founder & CEO
As Programme Manager, Sarah is helping to build something intentional for Christian poets in the UK. Not just a platform for visibility, but a space where poets can be encouraged and empowered. Her leadership reflects a growing vision for Christian poetry that is grounded in creativity and meaningful expression.
Sarah brings purpose and care into every space she serves, and her work continues to point people towards something greater than herself. As POETIC UK grows, she is helping to shape a path for poets whose voices carry faith, honesty and real impact.
