UCB Undiscovered hosts new artist Big Church Day Out competition

Throughout March, UCB Undiscovered have teamed up with Big Church Day Out to find the next big thing in Christian music. The winning artist or band will open the Illuminate Stage at Big Church Day Out (North and South) in May and have their music playlisted on UCB 1 or UCB 2.

UCB is one of the UK’s leading Christian media ministry outlets and UCB Undiscovered is it’s specialist programme for new music. Each week they introduce new tunes from Christian artists with an emphasis on independent and emerging talent from the UK and beyond.

Big Church Day Out is now in it’s 9th year and attracts more than 25,000 people annually from all over the UK and Europe to worship and celebrate all that is good. It’s a one-of-a-kind expression of church unity that is both vibrant and varied. Commenting on last year’s BCDO, Cross Rhythms’ Tony Cummings said, “I have no doubt that BCDO continues to grow and expand because the Lord’s hand is on it. It is quite simply magnificent, a thrilling two days for Christians and non-Christians, young and old, black and white, and continues to be an event of profound spiritual significance.”

The UCB hosted competition for a Big Church Day Out slot is only open to independent artists, who must be over 16 and from the UK and Ireland. A judging panel from UCB and Big Church Day Out will shortlist artists from all submitted entries. The winner will be notified in mid-April.

Sandra Godley, international recording artist and UCB Presenter commented, “Opportunities like this don’t come around very often. I’d urge anyone who’s serious about their music & wants to take it the next level to go for it!”
