BCDO founder Tim Jupp has announced that Big Church Day Out 2021 has been cancelled. The decision comes amidst ongoing uncertainty even as coronavirus vaccine rollouts continue and new strains are identified. Big Church Day Out is the largest outdoor gathering of Christians in the UK attracting tens of thousands annually. Tim’s statement is below:
Through last year I’m sure almost all of us missed gathering in ways that we were once used to. To protect the vision and the long term future of BCDO, we have made the difficult decision not to hold the event in May this year. We are so sad as I’m sure you will be too, but whilst there still remains so much uncertainty around the virus, vaccines and when social distancing measures will come to an end, regrettably this is currently our best option.
We believe more passionately than ever before in the part the Big Church Day Out can play in the lives of us individually and as churches and communities in uniting God’s people together, not only to celebrate the life we have found in Jesus but to create a space where each and every one of us can bring our friends and family who may not yet even know him.
We’re excited to announce that BCDO 2022 will now take place on Friday and Saturday, the 3rd and 4th of June 2022, and tickets will go on sale on Saturday May 29th this year. Our plans for next year are already well underway, and we would love you to start planning too by thinking and praying about who you might love to bring with you, who are yet to start their journey of faith.
What to do now?
If you are a ticket holder from 2020/2021, you don’t need to do anything and this automatically makes your tickets valid for 2022. This will also now save you money as it is likely ticket prices will see a small increase for that year.
Alternatively, if you need a refund please email info@bigchurchdayout.com before our ticket refund request deadline on Saturday, February 6th. After this deadline, all tickets will be deferred to the 2022 event and come under our usual no refunds terms and conditions, except for our new Covid refund policy. Please include your order number in the subject title. You can find this in your confirmation email or by logging in to your account at bigchurchdayout.com.
