Matamando:
Born in Malawi in 1982, Matamando is one of the UK’s most dynamic Gospel and worship recording artists. She is a songwriter, worship leader, mentor, and an ordained minister with a passion for leading others into deeper encounters with God through music.
Her musical journey began early—singing at just two years old and ministering in song at Reinhard Bonnke’s crusade at the tender age of six.
Rooted in a rich musical heritage as the daughter of the late Pastor Isaac Mkukupha, a celebrated jazz legend, she grew up immersed in Gospel and Jazz music, which profoundly shaped her unique sound.
She released her debut EP It’s Time in 2017, marking her official entry into the Gospel music scene. Her single I Belong to You became a standout success, earning the prestigious title of Track of the Week on Premier Gospel Radio. Her music played on Premier and UCB for seven consecutive years, a groundbreaking achievement. Her contributions have further been recognized with features on the Tru-Life UK Gospel compilation album ,BBC introducing,SKY TV,Malawi Achievers Award and AStep Fwd.
Matamando has shared stages with some of the Gospel music world’s finest, including UK legends Noel Robinson and Basil Mead, and even opened for the globally celebrated Israel Houghton.Since her release, she has spent the years going out to minister across the nation.
