Last week we brought you daily Creation Fest updates from our friends at One Man in the Middle. We got as far as Day 4 and being so well received, we just had to bring you the final 3 reviews of what has been from all accounts a truly spectacular weeks of activities. Check out days 5, 6 & 7 highlights below:
Day 5 – A wet start to the day followed by sunny intervals, but this is not a weather forecast! Today has been an epic day. I have had the chance to discover some real musical talent, a surprise artist on stage in the Big Shed and a massive concert with Lynz West and LZ7 and a much smaller gig with the great Triple O.
So yesterday’s entry got a bit deep didn’t it? Well today is a new day but the same old tiredness is really hitting everyone hard! One Woman is constantly fighting the fatigue and is beginning to long for the blow up mattress in the tent. Our comfortable bed at home seems like a distant memory!
It rained overnight but was fairly miserable at 4am, I know because nature called. It is really refreshing to walk the distance to the loo in the cold wet night, but I was wanting to be asleep, not refreshed! I did manage to get back to sleep again, on Friday night I could barely sleep and this morning I could barely stay awake! I am not the only one either. The kid’s are taking longer to come around too in the mornings…
Day 6 – It’s hard to find superlatives for the day to day awesomeness that it is to be at Creation Fest for the whole week. So far we’ve had Guvna B, LZ7, Triple O and today we are all looking forward to Leeland arriving to lead worship tonight. Before we get there however there is a whole day to go packed full of interesting seminars, music, teaching and more. And the interviewer becomes the interviewee
When you are at an event ‘officially’ covering it then it can become easy to just get sucked into the whirlwind of getting the work done and not actually remembering that there are opportunities to experience and learn from the people around. Today I made a point of trying to get to a couple of seminars – after all it’s not just about the music…
Day 7 – It’s now Saturday and Creation Fest is over for another year. Yesterday was a great final day with some brilliant artists on the main stage and also on the other stages. With a big finale at the end of the evening and hundreds of extra people joining to hear The Grenaways, Philippa Hanna and Hillsong London it was going to be a big night!
It’s now Saturday and I have the task of keeping 6 children awake until a reasonable time for them to go to bed. They are exhausted, but mainly happy, having spent the week at Creation Fest. If anyone has a good idea how I can keep them awake then let me know!
It was sad to leave the Big Shed last night knowing that it was the last event for another fantastic Creation Fest! We had a blast all week and this is, once again, thanks to the team that work tirelessly throughout the year to bring this event together…
