NATHANIEL BASSEY RELEASES NEW ALBUM ‘THE LIFE RECORDING’

Nathaniel Bassey has released a new seven-track album titled “THE LIFE RECORDING”, a live worship project that brings together new songs, medleys and some familiar songs from across his music ministry.

Running for over an hour, the album feels like a full worship experience rather than just a collection of songs, with different moments of praise and worship flowing into one another.

One of those moments comes in the praise medley, which opens with the popular Hallelujah Challenge song ‘The Battle Belongs to God’, before moving into ‘Jehovah Nissi’ from ‘The King Is Coming’ album and ‘You Are You’ from ‘The River’.

The album also features a remake of the popular worship song ‘Agbanilagbatan’, originally sung by Gbolahan Odukoya. ‘Agbanilagbatan’ means ‘He who saves completely’, and the song is given a fresh expression on the live recording.

Another track that caught my attention is ‘The Potentate’. I actually had to look up the meaning of the word. ‘Potentate’ means a powerful ruler or sovereign, and when you listen to the lyrics, that is exactly what the song communicates about God, His power, authority and sovereignty.

Sharing about the project on Instagram, Nathaniel Bassey also spoke about why it is called“THE LIFE RECORDING”, saying that what listeners will experience from the album is life.

From the older songs finding new expression to the newer sounds on the project, “THE LIFE RECORDING” carries that familiar Nathaniel Bassey worship atmosphere while still offering something fresh.

“THE LIFE RECORDING” is available now on all streaming platforms.
