Universal Rap Group, known as URG, began with a simple aim, to honour God through music while reaching listeners who might not hear the gospel elsewhere. Formed in 2023 under URF Musik by Pastor Eldee, The Teaching Priest, the group has become one of the most recognised collectives in UK gospel rap. Their first release, “Free“, placed them firmly on the map with its scripture shaped writing and modern production, and each single since has shown their steady growth. Tracks such as Zoe Life, Grace, Harvest Time featuring El Dee, Plenty Blessings, Chosen featuring Mr Ruddy, and The Nazarene Cypher have carried a clear message wrapped in a mix of rap, melody, and storytelling shaped by faith.
The collective brings together rappers YungRukki, Big Trish, Nii, and Omzz, as well as vocalists Sablar, ATF, JD, and Sanko. Sablar’s presence on Grace and He Won’t Let Me Down added a gentle depth to the group’s sound, giving balance to the sharper delivery of the rappers. YungRukki, who produces much of URG’s material, leads the musical direction with a blend of Afro gospel rhythms and contemporary rap influences. His work on projects such as Glory Story, Open Doors, Good News, and the 2025 Beat Pack sets the tone for URG’s distinct sound.
Their new project, “Harvest Season”, is out now. The seven track EP includes Faithful Father, Shining, Nazarene Cypher, Harvest Time, Jubilation, How Can We Lose, and Chosen. Six tracks are produced by YungRukki, giving the EP a unified feel while allowing each song to tell its own story. The project reflects themes of faith, perseverance, and thankfulness, offering both energy and reflection. It continues URG’s aim to produce music that is grounded in scripture while accessible to a wide audience.
Pastor Eldee describes the heart of the group in simple terms: “We exist to minister through music while shaping our craft with care. Through URG, we are engraving perfection in the Body of Christ, one track at a time.”
As URG grows, their music continues to appear across Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and the AStepFWD UK Christian Charts. Their work with URF Musik is helping to form a space where gospel hip hop can develop with clarity and purpose. Harvest Season stands as another step in that journey, offering a thoughtful and steady contribution to UK gospel music.
