SUTRA & friends talk art + healing + new book ‘Marrow: a loose poetry’

Emerging talent, SUTRA, released an EP earlier this year entitled ‘MARROW‘ a theatrical mix of vocals, sounds, acoustic sounds with blending musical styles beginning with an embracing choral of voices and a poetic spoken piece. She recently released a follow up book entitled “MARROW: a loose poetry” to add to her musical work. In the video above the group of women (including SUTRA) who are boldly living out their callings as creatives, and who also happen to be friends, sit together to talk about healing and what it means to them. Hosted by Debra Oludare the conversation touches on multiple aspects of healing, art and embracing identity. “In Marrow, nothing is hidden. Nothing is put away for later. With unwavering tenderness and lyrical intensity each chapter draws us further to the prospect of a heart in full view of itself. Blending poetry and prose, Sutra explores the interconnecting threads of womanhood and vulnerability, purpose and intention, faith and loss, grief and redemption, joy and loneliness. And goes deeper still. There is a simple reason Marrow is necessary: it asks us to look at what we are, and gives us the language to confront and change and love what we find.” https://www.facebook.com/iamsutra1/photos/a.566316296841298/1185537601585828/?type=3&theater Connect with SUTRA via her website and be sure to purchase a copy of her book on Amazon.
