Preach magazine is delighted to announce The Langham Partnership as the Sponsor of Sermon of the Year 2021, The Methodist Church as the Associate Sponsor and SPCK as a Supporter.

Readers of Preach magazine and supporters of LWPT, publishers of Preach, will begin to see the roll-out of sponsorship activities immediately on our online platforms and in the Spring issue of the magazine, published February 2021. Sponsorship provides promotional opportunities for both brands to reach out to a UK-wide audience across all Christian Denominations. Sponsorship activities will encompass print, online media and the Grand Final in June 2021.

Sermon of the Year is an event organised by Preach magazine. Now in its fifth year, it aims to promote the art of sermon writing and preaching. It gives preachers and student preachers from across the UK the chance to hone and demonstrate their skills. The event is open to all Christian denominations. Entries to Sermon of the Year are open until midnight on 21 February 2021. Entry is by submitting a 1500-word sermon on our theme of ‘Cross the Divide’. The authors of the three best entries are invited to take part in the Grand Final on 24 June 2021.

Revd Dr Chris Wright, Global Ambassador and Ministry Director, Langham Partnership Langham Partnership is pleased to be the sponsor of Sermon of the Year 2021. Our mission, which is to equip majority world church leaders to preach God’s Word in a faithful and relevant way that engages and impacts their culture, aligns closely with the aim of Sermon of the Year. We recognise that the hard work of sermon preparation and the skills of biblical preaching are vital in enabling God’s Word to nourish God’s people for effective mission in God’s world.

Jonathan Hustler, Secretary of the Methodist Conference, The Methodist Church in Britain “The calling of the Methodist Church is to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission. Preaching, the proclamation of the good news, is absolutely central to that. In these strange times, we have found new ways of preaching and learned to use different media but our commitment to communicating the gospel remains the same. We are therefore delighted to support Sermon of the Year 2021 and look forward to hearing how the finalists have addressed the theme of ‘Cross the Divide’.

Alexandra McDonald, Commercial Director at SPCK – the leading Christian publisher – commented, “SPCK is proud to support Sermon of the Year 2021 to underline the continuing importance of reading Christian books to this part of ministry.”

Ian Buchanan, Chief Executive of LWPT added,
“We’re delighted to have the support of three key organisations whose work aligns closely with our own aims to equip and resource preachers and those in ministry to spread God’s word. We’re very grateful to both organisations for their support in enabling us to continue to present Sermon of the Year in very challenging circumstances”
