aStepFWD announces changes to UK Christian Chart reporting system

March 2017 marked the 3rd anniversary of the UK Christian Chart, a monthly system build to celebrate the abundance of talent in the UK and beyond. With what might very well be the UK’s most diverse database of music by Christian artists, the growth of the charts has been nothing short of phenomenal.

We’ve had an amazing 1077+ submissions to date from all genres and musical styles including Rock, Pop, Grime, Reggae, Spoken Word, Worship, Contemporary, Traditional Gospel, Hip Hop,  EDM, House and so much more!

With over 360+ top ten tracks listed so far we have seen #1’s from some of the biggest known names such as Noel Robinson, Philippa Hanna, Guvna B, Worship Central, Dire Pitan, Chloe Reynolds, A Star, Ian Yates, Lurine CatoRivers & Robots and more recently, fresh sounds from emerging artists LCF and CalledOut Music.

The UK Christian Chart has most certainly been a massive undertaking and keeping up the consistency no easy feat. We continue to see an average of 35 new tracks submitted monthly and approximately 20% new artists engaging for the very first time each month making the service being provided and the foundation being built essential to the UK’s industry growth and the future of the abundance of upcoming and established talent.

It is with this future in mind that we announce another tweak to the chart system.

All tracks received for April 2017 will now be moved over to May 2017 as we start reporting for the month ahead. This will ensure that reporting will always be current and relevant. Please note this change is more of a name change, as all tracks submitted up to the 15th of April are not affected and are simply now named in the May submission listing.

Deadlines remain the same ie. the 15th of each month, with the voting process to conclude within 10 days thereafter. Artists are encouraged to plan their release schedules in advance factoring in this overall additional one month period.

As always we endeavour to publish each release on astepfwd.com and ALL the submissions to the UK Christian Chart will continue to receive free promotion in and around the voting period. The Judges votes will continue to shortlist 20 tracks which will go through for public selection no later than the 21st of each month.
