South London rapper Y Shadey finally returns with a long-awaited collaboration. His new single ‘Greatness Only’ features his blood brother Still Shadey – a “rare gem” in the UK Rap Scene. Still Shadey has recently released summer’s ‘Heaven’ single which has racked up over 100,000 streams online and topped the Hip Hop category in the UK Christian Chart this October.
19-year-old Y Shadey paved his artistic success through a series of clever and witty #FridayFreestyles via social media. The artist went on to receive public praise from rappers BIG TOBZ, DON E, and the late legend CADET.
It was after Cadet’s death Shadey was inspired to take his career to the next level, releasing his first single ‘Knife Crime’ in 2019. His latest single, produced by Jay Picasso, enthuses both R&B and Drill which has come to be known as the popular R’N’Drill. Both rappers exchange electric flows, showcasing their lyrical ability and charm on the genre, which is generally deemed as aggressive. The two apply a ‘positive-twist’ on the drill track, creating an uplifting sound with melodic backing vocals. The Shadeys represent the deep diversities in the UK Drill scene.
The music video premiere of ‘Greatness Only’ is now available on GRM DAILY and the song is available everywhere to stream Thursday at midnight! Presave HERE
