We catch up with Germany-based Hannah Kamara following ‘So Good’ release

Hannah Kamara is an award-winning UK gospel musician, songwriter and worship leader, who currently resides in Germany. She continues to exercise her desire to spread the gospel and empower others through her music, recently releasing new single So Good featuring talented Finnish Ghanaian hip-hop rap Blaqboy Jnr. We catch up with her for a quick interview:

What has the response been like since your single release?

The response has been overwhelmingly positive. I’ve had excellent feedback from my listeners, friends and family. Some describing so good as a “timely song, we all have been through a lot especially since this COVID-19 pandemic started, but despite the noisome pestilence around us, God has been so good to us.”

If you could work with any artist, who would it be and why?

Sinach, I love Sinach. When I gave my life to Christ in 2008 and Joined the Choir, Sinah was one of the prominent worship leaders I was listening to that helped me through my walk with Christ. I love the simplicity and powerful messages, and I feel that all of her songs are holy ghost filled. Sinach is anointed, talented, beautiful, and I genuinely admire her humility. One day by God’s Grace, if it’s His will, I would love to collaborate with her.

How would you describe your style of music, and what are your influences?

I do not restrict myself to one genre, so I feel my music style is so dynamic. For my EP “My Desire”, I had a worship song, soulful and inspirational song, rap song and praise song. My new music style is more of an Afrobeat. My influences in my music come from the Holy Spirit, the word of God and other spirit-filled gospel artists.

What is your favourite album of all time?

CeCe Winans “Alabaster Box”. Lots of encouraging, uplifting, and spirit-filled songs in the album. The album helped me to draw closer to God and have that intimate relationship with him. ‘Comforter’ was my favourite, help me through the grieving process of losing my brother at the age of 18.

What is the next for you and what can we look forward to?

I’m currently working on my next single, hoping to release it by summer and hopefully an album to round up the year. I’m also planning for my fourth Gospel Concert in Germany. Lots of exciting things ahead!
