Veteran rapper JayEss tries hand at directing in ‘Live It Up’ short film

JayEss recently released the official music video and short film for ‘Live It Up’ also a song off his 7EVEN album. The MOBO Awards nominee has been making a serious comeback with various tracks from the new album and is on a mission to creatively re-represent out-of-the-box thinking within the music scene.

JayEss commented, “I believe God is taking my creative gift to another level and that ‘Live It Up’ will be used to speak to young people across the UK.”

The film is about a young man ‘Jermaine’ who gets caught up in the perils and pitfalls of living the street life and the choices he has to make between a good or evil path. Everything seems to be going well for him (or so he believes) until tragedy strikes and he’s left to decide which road to choose.

Heralding a fresh approach to releasing music here in the UK, the brand new compelling drama produced by Billicity Media marks JayEss’ debut as a film director.

aStepFWD.com salutes JayEss’ first directing role and hopes this will inspire more artists to look at the visual output for their music, bringing even simple concepts to life, over direct to camera – no storyline, no plot filming – that oftentimes fail to engage a media hungry audience.
