Taiwo.Musicc returns as promised with her debut album titled “A Journey of Surrender.” Fans were restless for new music from the Carry Me singer-songwriter and responded accordingly to her independent fundraising appeal in 2023 via Instagram, which led to over £10,000 being raised in support of the project. This 10-track album does not disappoint as Taiwo bares her soul on each track, softly expressing her devotion and commitment to pursuing Christ while inviting all to also answer the call. The call to come and surrender.
In this album, she takes us through various expressions of surrender and shares themes such as trusting the shepherd, being still, and remaining in Him. Taiwo.Musicc brings reinforcements on the album, starting with Divine Keys artist Idrees Oloyede taking lead on the production. The pair bring their gospel influence to a contemporary Christian sound, creating an album that will encourage both meditation and praise. Other collaborations include gospel artist and vocal arranger Akin Amusan, who showcases both his vocal agility and dynamic arrangements in songs such as Come (track 1) and River (track 5) and lofi duo GATLofficial who point us to deep reflection on River interlude (track 6).
These collaborations are also an intentional nod to community, which is a key message from Taiwo.Musicc who describes herself as “a product of godly community, something our world needs more of today.
