‘The Great Commission’ (Afrobeats Mix) from Jacinth is out now

‘The Great Commission’ song by Jacinth puts a contemporary spin on the call that Christ made to his disciples with this latest Afrobeats mix. Saying “Go and make disciples of all nations” that message still stands. The song makes it simpler to understand the message. It spells out the task, making it personal.

Central to the message is the search for “purpose”. There is a purpose to our creation. Don’t just seek to exist, go and find your calling. Do the little you can to make a difference and make every day count. Be driven to do the best and God will do the rest!

ABOUT JACINTH

Jacinth Mhende (nee Mitchell) is a classically trained soprano singer / song-writer and vocal coach from a strong Christian pedigree. Born in England to Jamaican parents who are highly respected for their work in the church and community; Jacinth’s mother has been a singing powerhouse in the church and her father – honoured with an MBE by the Queen for his service to the African-Caribbean community – is well known for his social club catering for the elderly in London and for personally housing the displaced. With such wholesome beginnings, it’s no wonder Jacinth works to inspire others with her uniquely uplifting brand of music which carries a message of hope and perseverance!

Jacinth picked up the fundamentals of singing and vocal control at an early age, learning to sing harmonies as a child by listening to her Mum and Aunt practising for church. The family singing tradition continued through Jacinth’s upbringing in Germany where she lived with her eldest sister Liz Mitchell – the award-winning lead singer of Boney M – who won acclaim performing numerous chart-topping hits aired in radio charts and on television.

As early as 14, Jacinth was singing as a backing vocalist for her sister’s group, taking to some of the biggest stages at a very tender age as she toured around the world backing her sister. The tours exposed her to a wide variety of genres of music including gospel, blues, soul, jazz and reggae which have all played a part in influencing her unique sound today. Direct involvement in her sister’s work gave Jacinth the opportunity to start singing professionally and helped to finesse her voice. By the age of 17, Jacinth had toured through more than 10 different countries!

After periods of touring with Boney M, Jacinth went on to co-found the band “As Is”, where she collaborated on writing and singing, dwelling on fusion soul pieces.  In 2000, Jacinth recorded her first solo secular album, “Already Missing You” published under the stage name,  JJ Tyrell. Since then, Jacinth has gone off to study and complete a degree in music at a university in Cambridge, England. In 2016 Jacinth wrote and produced her debut gospel album, “Hear from Heaven”, with tracks in soul, R&B and reggae.

Jacinth is now back on the road promoting her new single, ‘The Great Commission’ a remix she worked on with Linslee Campbell, the renowned music producer who has worked on producing and remixing songs by some of the big names in the industry. The single carries a message of perseverance, building on the spirit of those of the Windrush generation.
