Ryan J. Bruce, the Founder and Managing Director of Glocal World Entertainment, decided to bring together some of the leading minds in all areas of the music business at The Essential Music & Business Seminar for an 8 hour masterclass of teaching, practical advice and general insider industry know-how.
Scheduled from 10pm-6pm on the 18th January, the free event ran closer till 8pm as experts covered Monetizing Your Music, Brand Partnership, Women in the Industry, Music Marketing, Radio Plugging, Networking, The Evolution of A&R, The State of the Urban Music Industry and many other areas.
A special highlight for me was the panel of seasoned professionals including Yemi Adeshina (Business Developer, OHTV), Lucas Langdon (Managing Director, 3:16 Media Group), Linton Beckles (CEO, GMIA). The panel was led by Editor-in-Chief of UKGospel.com and Premier Gospel radio presenter, Yinka Awojobi, who gave an amazing presentation and along with the panelists spoke about how faith-based music, namely Gospel, is thriving within the British market, in many areas of Europe and across the world.
Q&A sessions had to be cut short throughout the day as the level of engagement and interaction after each Panel Discussion and Keynote Speaker was extremely high. Built into the seminar were chances to network and exchange ideas with representatives from PPL, Sony, MTV, and also other like-minded creatives, leaving everyone who attended greatly inspired and ready to make their own unique mark on the industry.
Long story short, it was a pretty great day! Check out some pics taken by us on the day.
Well done to Ryan J. Bruce and his team. Can’t wait for the next one.
