It is often said that Christians and Politics should never mix. In fact, Politics is often described as ‘dirty business’, so why would any ‘good Christian’ be involved in such murky stuff?!
Samuel Adams one of the founding fathers of the United States of America once said, ‘Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote…that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country’. This would suggest that our involvement in politics may well be something for which we would need to give account to God.
Should Christians really get involved in the ‘dirty’ business of Politics?
Podcast host Sarah Teibo says, “This week on the Church Unboxed podcast, we unpack this rather controversial topic together with my guest Tim Farron former Leader of the UK Political Party – Liberal Democrats. Tim who is a lifelong non-conformist Protestant, has been the Liberal Democrats’ Spokesperson for Communities and Local Government since 2019 and shares in-depth about his very eventful journey in Politics as a Christian and what we can learn from his experiences.”
