Next year is set to kick off with musical fireworks as one of the biggest and most diverse lineups ever to be showcased in London, makes its debut at City Gates in Ilford on January 19th. Significantly, Common Grounds Music Festival has missional work and fellowship at the heart of this much anticipated initiative.
Common Grounds is a space to promote music, build community through art and stand for the injustices of this world. For more than a decade, founder Doug Ross (in video above) has been striving to champion UK Music and art through mentoring, management, organising Tours and running the UK’s premier booking agency. As a producer and artist himself, he understands the struggles in promoting music and becoming part of a scene so is looking to help build a platform to showcase the best the UK has to offer.
The one-day mini festival will showcase the very best in UK Christian Music and has over 20 UK artists performing, with a second stage just announced. The proceeds from this event are going towards supporting a legend in the music scene, Tom Mills, and his family who are going through a tough journey with cancer.
This event is also partnered with CSW, a charity that helps give a voice to the voiceless. CSW’s team of specialist advocates work on over 20 countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, to ensure that the right to freedom of religion or belief is upheld and protected. Their vision is a world free from religious persecution, where everyone can practice a religion or belief of their choice.
The absolutely spectacular line-up includes Guvna B, LZ7, Lou Fellingham, Joshua Luke Smith, The Bright Expression, Rivers & Robots, David’s Tent Worship featuring Lucy Grimble, Rich & Lydia Di Cas & Danny O’Callaghan, Sophia, Kings Village, Written In Kings, Josh Gauton, Steph Macleod, Tom McConnell, Tina Boonstra, Tom Smith (Soul Survivor), Cathy Burton, Tom Fenton, Dire Pitan, Atlas Rhoads and a number of special guest bands.
Here at aStepFWD we love events and artistry that are not just geared at showcasing but have a missional and evangelical aspect to drive or compliment great music. This is why we are excited to partner with Common Grounds in their first ever music festival in London. Your support in attending this event is literally helping change lives.
