Singer-songwriter, RAE (Rachael Adebiyi), released her first single ‘So Good’ and is looking forward to sharing her music journey and igniting a new love for R & B gospel music in the UK. She said, “I am really excited to have released my first single. It’s funny how a dream can slowly become a reality.” RAE started her singing journey from the age of 10 and she says she was born to sing! She entered Time2Shine, the number 1 UK Gospel talent competition, which was for her great exposure and build her confidence. She finished the Season 3 and made it to the semi-finals during which time RAE was also leading the youth choir in her church, RCCG House of Praise. Shortly after the competition, RAE was backing up a few ministers such as Isabella Melodies on a project named ‘For The Groom II’, singing soprano. RAE then began to minister at various places such as weddings, movie premieres, youth and church events. By this time RAE decided she wanted to take music seriously, as God had shown her through signs that this was her calling. Within 1 year of launching her music career, RAE’s pop-soulful voice has caught the attention of thousands, being the opening act for GRAMMY Award winning gospel singer Erica Campbell & MOBO Awards nominee Annastasia Baker. RAE believes this new single is a reflection of how much God has been good to her, and that it will also be an encouragement to listeners to ‘count your blessings’ and “don’t take waking up in the morning for granted’. It is evident that there are only a few young female gospel singers in the UK and RAE hopes to be a beacon for females to rise up and pursue their God given dream in Gospel music. For any young person wondering if they should pursue a career in music, RAE shares this testimony, “I didn’t feel like I was ready, my friends kept pushing me to the point they introduced me to a producer who I happened to know already. I booked a studio session and things took off from there! I never thought I would have a single ready this year, honestly God is good, he knows what he is doing!” RAE is in her second year of university, studying Media and Sociology and she wishes to release another single or two before the year ends along with more live performances with other amazing artists.
