Step FWD UK Christian Chart #1 artists for February 2015 Rivers & Robots have launched a Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund the release of their next independent album, and first album on Vinyl! They want to be able to go the extra mile creatively, spend more on mixing and mastering to get the songs sounding the best they can. They are looking to raise £9500 by the 1st of December.
Rivers & Robots is a UK indie worship band which started in 2010 as a solo project of Jonathan Ogden’s to write and record worship music with a new sound. The name comes from the blend of acoustic / melodic sounds (rivers) and the electronic production and beats (robots).
After 2 bedroom-recorded albums they became a 4-piece band in 2013, and released their first full band album ‘All Things New’ in 2014, which had the #1 hit track ‘Fall Down’ in the February 2015 Step FWD UK Christian Chart.
Last year we were approached by several record labels with the opportunity to sign, but for several reasons we decided we were going to stay independent and pursue what we felt God was calling us to do as a band
Now the band need your help to record what will be the fourth album released under the name ‘Rivers & Robots’, but only their second album as a 4-piece band. According to their Kickstarter page “…all the songs recorded as demos, and without revealing too much, this is our most joyful album but in a chilled way, rather than an all-out rave…”.
They went on to add, “…it’s written all about Jesus, and his character, and the album contains some of our favourite songs lyrically”.
In order to accomplish their objective the band needs to raise over £4800 by the 1st of December (18 days to go) or lose the £4700+ that has been pledged so far.
