Reapers Choir climbs to Top 10 of Official European Independent Music Chart

UK’s The Reapers Choir climbs the Top 20 of the Official European Independent Music Chart for the fifth week with their song ‘Turn Away’ (video above filmed by Step FWD Media). They entered the chart at #19, then climbed to #15, #13, #11 and this week have broken into the Top Ten at #10. Even they were astonished at this, being the only gospel song in the charts!

The all female choir led by Anu Omideyi have been having a fantastic run with multiple awards and accolades. Most recently they had the privilege of leading two songs in Prom Praise 16 at the Royal Albert Hall, supporting the wonderful Stuart Townend, author of modern classics such as “In Christ Alone”. The fantastic evening was led by Dr Noel Tredinnick and the All Souls Orchestra and featured Integrity artists Noel Robinson and Lou Fellingham.

Good things comes in threes for The Reapers as just yesterday April 5th, the choir was announced as one of the nominees for “Choir of the Year” in the first ever Premier Gospel Awards. This category has other strong contenders; London Community Gospel Choir, MOBO award winning Living Faith Connections Choir, IDMC and Volney Morgan and New Ye.

Having already won “Choir of the Year” and “Choir Director of the Year” (Anu Omideyi) in the Zeta Gospel Music & Radio Awards 2015 based in Tennessee, USA, there seems to be no stopping these amazing ladies!
