Last night, 22 people were killed, and a further 59 injured, in a bomb attack that took place in Manchester Arena. Young people and their families attended the concert of US singer Ariana Grande, when the explosion happened at the close of the event.
News reports flood our social media and TV screens this morning as the tragedy hits home. I am moved to tears seeing the sentiments of friends and loved ones. There even are now increasing reports of missing persons, being shared on Twitter and Facebook (including those pictured below) who have been missing since the concert last night.
As updates on the news continue to surface and names and identity of victims begin to be released, you might be asking…“What can we do?”
I will pray and You shall hear – Psalm 55:17
In Matthew 24 Jesus speaks of the hearts of people waxing so cold because of lawlessness, however, He promises He will draw near to those who need comfort in times like these. Let us join together to pray for the families affected by this attack. Pray for those who are missing, that they are found, and that each family will receive comfort and love from around them as their city draws close.
There has also been an urgent request for blood donors for those injured. Click to see more information here.
