Patrice Campbell named Gospel Singer of the Year 2022 in BBC SoP competition

Last Sunday was the grand final of the Gospel Singer of the Year competition hosted by BBC’s Songs of Praise. The celebration of gospel music included a special guest performance from the legendary Jools Holland and Ruby Turner. Hosted by Mark De-Lisser the show was held at The Monastery, Manchester.

Singing to win the title were three talented finalists, Maxine Brooks from Birmingham, Patrice Campbell from London, Kieron Bygraves from Huddersfield. Making the all-important decision on who the winner would be were the judges: TV presenter and celebrity vocal coach Carrie Grant, MOBO award-winning gospel performer and Step FWD Awards 2021 Male Artist of the Year CalledOut Music and UK Christian Charts-topping, soul-singing star Mica Paris.

Huge congratulations again to Patrice Campbell on being crowned the Gospel Singer of the Year 2022. If you missed her winning performance, you can catch it on BBC iPlayer
