‘Tear The Veil’ is the first single from Nathan Jess‘ new project and features Jesus Culture’s Chris McClarney. Based in Northern Ireland, Nathan Jess is quickly becoming a songwriter and worship leader renowned for his diligence and fervour in waiting on God and creating space during his songs and his leading for those present to encounter God.
Having toured alongside artists such as Rend Collective, Phil Wickham and Martin Smith, Nathan has built on his experience and his own journey of Faith to create his new album “Phoenix”. With contributions from Matt Redman and Chris McClarney “Phoenix” is sure to bring Nathan into the Homes and Sound systems of many new listeners who will be left in wonder how they have never come across him sooner.
In describing where he feels he sits in an area of Christian music that is in a very fruitful season, Nathan shared how touring with other Worship leaders and his journey over the past few years has brought him to this point of releasing his latest offering:
“I think primarily I have learnt to feel comfortable in who I am as a songwriter and embrace any nuances I have that make make these songs my own voice. As I stepped into the world of writing worship songs and collaborating with people coming from differing contexts and backgrounds, God affirmed in me that He calls each of us to hold on tightly to who He purposefully created us to be.”
With songs that are perfectly crafted for the corporate church body to sing, Nathan has a unique gifting to make each lyric and chord that is struck feel like it has been created to bridge that Gap between you, the listener, and the divine. Songs that speak of a depth of relationship but also the sweet simplicity of Gods love for us.
2017 is sure to be a busy year for Nathan and he plans to take his songs as far and as wide as God will carry him. So be it in a personal reflective time with God or through worshiping with the wider body, Nathan Jess is sure to create a space for God to speak and through worshiping with him, for your life to be transformed.
“Phoenix” is released on the 10th of February 2017 at the Waterfront Studio Theatre in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
