The online Christian streaming service New Faith Network is now available in the United Kingdom. In December 2017 New Faith Network started in the Netherlands. It has a mission to become the largest European Christian Streaming Service and bring the word of Christ through faith-based films, series and original productions to the households of millions of Christians. New Faith Network is market leader in the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway and hopes to play a major role in the British community.
The Christian alternative to Netflix
New Faith Network is answering to the needs of the Christian community underserved by the mainstream streaming services like Netflix or Amazon Prime who only offer a few faith-based films on a platform that’s filled with content that contains excessive swearing, violence and explicit material. New Faith Network focuses solely on Christian viewers with content that’s tailored to fit their needs.
United Kingdom next in expansion after positive reactions from the Christian community
“We received positive feedback from the Christian community in the UK, after successfully expanding in the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway,” according to Machiel Copier, editor-in-chief of New Faith Network. “We see a great need for a Christian niche channel in the UK. Christian entertainment is scattered and difficult to find,” says Copier. “The widespread Internet availability and smartphone usage was also important for the decision to expand into the UK,” Copier continues.
Largest selection of Christian films on one platform
In the UK, more than 90 films are available as of December 5. “The goal is to have 150 titles in 3 months’ time,” according to Copier. “By specialising in Christian films, we have an advantage over major international, more mainstream streaming services, that only have a handful of Christian titles.”
Christian channel for all
“On New Faith Network you can see anything from the creation story, Jesus films, romantic comedies, dramas and exciting action films, all with a Christian message in the broadest sense of the word,” continues Copier. “Everyone is welcome to watch. The films are family-friendly and contain no swearing or explicit material.”
The UK editors invite collaboration
“We’re excited to serve our British viewers in their own language,” says Rebecca Thompson, Community Manager for the UK. New Faith Network welcomes self-produced material and tips from the UK viewers. “We want to offer a multi-faceted platform with local support,” says Thompson.
