Hailing from Swanage outside Bournemouth Matt Hurley is our freshest discovered talent, with his demo track ‘My Soul Sings’. Matt has been playing Christian music and leading worship for a number of years, but recently started on a brand new adventure, writing his own songs.
Matt said, “The aim of my music is to bless people with the hope that God provides and also facilitate a medium in which they can share really emotions with God and communicate what’s on their hearts.”
Matt attended Moorlands Bible College where he led the worship team and further discovered his passion for writing music that glorifies God. He is involved in leading worship at his local church, All Saints, and also at their joint church evening worship services.
astepfwd.com had a great conversation with Matt in which he shared a little of his heart and experience to date as an emerging solo artist. He explained, “I’ve had a few meetings and was a little surprised at the huge costs of some of the mentoring services.
He added, “On top of that there doesn’t seem to be a huge amount of networking opportunities in the public arena especially for my style of music. Overall though it’s not been that bad and am excited about what God has in store.”
At present Matt is working on his debut EP, Raising Questions, set for release in June this year.
‘My Soul Sings’ was submitted to the January 2016 listing of the UK Christian Chart, the independent home of Christian and Gospel music from across the country.
