Lurine Cato continues to carry the torch in what is believed to be yet another pivotal moment in her career. This year Lurine could secure the opportunity to perform on the Pilton Stage at the Glastonbury Festival 2022, taking place from 22-26 June. The festival takes place over a period of three days and is headlined this year by Diana Ross, Elton John, Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar.
Glastonbury is the UK’s biggest music festival playing to an audience of some 200,000. The Pilton Stage is located about 100 yards from the main stage and gives indie artists the opportunity to perform at the festival through a competition that is held at the same location. Cato who has already made it to the final will be performing on the 26th March for her chance to play at the festival.
Irrespective of the result though, Lurine we’re sure will continue to blaze her own trail in the UK Gospel Music scene, having been awarded the prestigious MBE in 2021, adding to her MOBO win in 2013 and a host of other awards. She recently also picked up the award for Best Gospel Act at the Urban Music Awards and was the first recipient of Step FWD’s Lavine Hudson Award for Vocal Excellence.
“We are living in interesting times and regardless of what happens at the final, I thank God for another opportunity to spread His message of faith, hope and love to the brokenhearted.” says Cato.
