We live in a society where we’re constantly encouraged to get more. Through adverts, music, TV programmes etc, we’re constantly told that what we currently have is not enough. People are constantly judged on their net worth, and in an attempt to have more we often adjust our standards or lessen our morals. But is it really worth it?
When deciding whether or not to take on a new job, one of the first things that pops into a person’s mind is how much is the pay? A major decider in choosing a life partner has turned from internal qualities to how much they have in their bank account. No romance without finance, right? Wrong! Don’t miss out on the greatest opportunities of your life just because it doesn’t have the sum of your choice attached to it.
And don’t waste your life chasing money! Because, guess what?! When you die you can’t take any of it with you. Isn’t it interesting that when on the deathbed most people want to be around their loved ones, not around their bank balance. It’s amazing that when faced with death we realise what really matters.
Of course money is a great tool to be used, and yes we all need to eat and pay our bills. But, keep the money in your head and not in your heart. Be motivated by love! Be driven by your passion, convictions and purpose. Never be driven by money because it will take you on the road to evil.
There isn’t enough money in the world to buy your dignity, relationships or happiness. Control your money, don’t let it control you.
My name is Love and these are my notes.
