October means that the first term of university for many people is coming into full swing.
This is also the time that societies will be looking to get attract new faces and encourage membership.
Having been part of the Afro-Caribbean Society in some form or another throughout my university career and serving as secretary for one, I have often been asked the questions ‘Why do you want to separate?’ or ‘Don’t you think this is racist’. Is it racist?
The whole issue led me to reflect on the role of The Christian Unions which are representatives of faith as much as the ACS’ are reflective of culture. The CU’s are looking to minister to the public and spread the Word but do you think that organisations like the Christian Unions are separatist and against other religions?
I have my answers but would like to know what you think?
