Glasgow singer & songwriter Allan McKinlay’s vibrant ‘Give Thanks To God’

Great to see more talent from Glasgow, Scotland in the person of singer and songwriter Allan McKinlay with one of his latest releases ‘Give Thanks To God’. The song has a very interesting structure, starting with a harp doing a nice melody after which everything else comes in.

Allan’s ‘Give Thanks To God’ got the congregation involved almost in a question and answer style. Another interesting factor to the song is that there are more than one lead singers. Hearing different lead vocals can sometimes make a song even more interesting to listen.

The husband and father of two has been in full time music ministry since 2007 and travels extensively throughout the UK and further afield leading worship at many different churches, events and conferences. He is currently the Director of Worship at CLAN Gathering (New Wine Scotland) and is an ambassador for Compassion. Last year was exciting for Allan as he played festivals such as Creation Fest, Open Skies, David’s Tent, supported Martin Smith and toured in conjunction with charities Tearfund and Open Doors.

This year Allan has played at Big Church Day Out, been performing the ‘Awake with Allan’ tour, will be releasing a brand new Scottish Worship EP and touring throughout the USA. Allan has a passion for the presence of the Lord and his heart is to gather, lead and inspire people to pursue intimacy with God and to be free, passionate, creative and authentic worshipers.
