A new awards programme, recognising and honouring outstanding contributions to the gospel music scene, has been launched by Premier Gospel radio. The first-ever Premier Gospel Awards will be presented on Saturday, April 23rd, at ‘The Hub’ in London at 7-00pm and marks 3 years of Premier’s ‘Gospel Week’, the biggest and most dedicated Gospel music celebration the UK has seen.
Premier Gospel describes the event as an evening full of music performances and awards with eight categories, including Best Male, Best Female, Best Newcomer, Best Song, Best Album, Best International Act, and Choir of the Year.
Announcing the new awards programme recently, Station Director Muyiwa Olarewaju, said that Britain’s leading gospel music radio station would be celebrating the best that a vibrant gospel scene had to offer. “We shall be honouring the best and shining a spotlight on both new and established gospel talent,” he said.
Among the artists performing on the night will be V9 Collective, Keiran Bygrave, Andrew Bello, and Becca Folkes. There will also be surprise guest performances by three MOBO award-winning artists performing a track from the soon-to-be-released ‘This is Gospel’ Vol 2.
aStepFWD were honoured to be asked to be on the judging panel which included UKGospel.com, Vinejuice, The GMIA, Marcia Dixon PR, Glocal World Entertainment, alongside Muyiwa, Guvna B and Premier Gospel presenters.
