DJ Tomiwa names 3 Top AfroGospel Tracks ahead of Praise Party #FirstFridays

1. What’s your DJ name?

DJ Tomiwa

2. How did you come to be a DJ?

I’m a British-born Nigerian who learnt to DJ over 3 years ago. I started due to a love for music and spreading enjoyment. Being a Christian, I’ve also wanted to my music to edify others, so I’ve sought out DJing for Christian events wherever possible. To date, I’ve been blessed with many experiences including many Christian university events, Zoe Nites and, most notably, the 2015 Tye Tribbett concerts. I look forward to continuing to hone my skills for Christ and his people.

3. Tell us a bit about Praise Party and your involvement in it.

Wanting to expand my opportunities as a Christian DJ, I contacted DJ Kelechi but had no idea about Praise Party at first. When he told me about the idea, I seized the opportunity because I thought it was an amazing idea. These days young Christians have little to no Christian options when it comes to going out and socialising with their friends. Additionally, Praise Party presents an excellent platform to educate people about the great music and talented Christian artists that there are out there. Overall, I just pray that we see a change in the UK where edifying Christian music becomes the norm, and #FirstFridays is one of the first steps to that vision.

4. What’s your favourite AfroGospel tracks?

As a DJ I come across so much music but 3 songs that you might catch me spinning at Praise Party #FirstFridays are Tim Godfrey ft. Skales – Amen (Remix), NKay – Your Love and Sinach – I Know Who I Am.

Well, there you have it, 3 top AfroGospel suggestions from DJ Tomiwa. Which is your favourite?
