A celebration of perseverance and hope, ‘Journey On’ is an uplifting driving song that speaks of the twists and turns of life and encourages listeners “you’re doing better than you give yourself credit for.” The warm, inspirational video mirrors the song’s upbeat summery feel, with a clear uplifting message and a feel-good tune you won’t get out of your head. The stunning video follows two inspirational storylines and was filmed over four months, directed by renowned filmmaker Abhinav Varun Revis of CBN Europe. “It’s been such an intense, thorough process,” April explains, “I didn’t want to settle for mediocre, I wanted to create something that would be profound and impacting in every sense, so I crowdfunded the costs and approached the very best in the business.” The project combined the skills of two camera operators, 8 actors and dozens of extras, and was filmed across several locations including April’s rural hometown of Ross-on-Wye. Supporters raised the £1,200 needed to cover production costs in just three weeks earlier this year, while others offered skills, time and even their own cars to pack as much cinematic quality into the video as possible. April told us that she hopes the video and its message will be far-reaching. “Video is such a powerful tool for reaching and impacting people,” she said, “and sadly, not always for the best. In our celebrity culture, it’s never been easier to compare ourselves to the people we watch on TV and feel insignificant. That’s why we’ve produced a music video of such high calibre that it can be seen with the same significance as other media influences, to tell people the truth that their journey matters, their life is unique and their story is beautiful.
