Applications are now open for Christian & Gospel music artists who have been affected financially by the Covid-19 pandemic after over £3000 was successfully raised for the Artist Relief Fund. Set up by aStepFWD and UK Christian Chart, the initiative was supported by many industry partners and many kind-hearted individuals. A big thank you to all who donated.
Covid-19 continues to have a severe impact on people’s health, state of mind and means of income, with no definite end in sight. The creative industry is one of the hardest hit as the gig economy has shut down. Churches are restricted. Festivals and concerts are canceled. Theatres and music venues are shuttered. In just a few months livelihoods and careers have been put on hold indefinitely and the uncertainty prevails worldwide.
Through our work with the UK Christian Chart, we’ve had first-hand experience and accounts of the effect the pandemic has had on the music industry. This has placed a burden on our hearts to give a helping hand to UK Christian and Gospel music artists who have have been unable to access other support systems or who for whatever reason continue to have major challenges in regards to everyday life. With the monies raised from over 65 generous individuals, the Artist Relief Fund will surely bless creatives.
The deadline for applications is Wednesday 7th of October 2020. Applications will be assessed by a team of Judges from the UK Christian Chart and those deemed most in need will receive the grant amount of £200. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to serve the Christian and Gospel music community and look forward to receiving the applications and dispensing the much-needed funds.
