André K Barrow has finally decided to bring to life his life’s journey in song. This UK/Bajan Singer Songwriter has an eclectic style of writing that captures the impact his faith has had on his life and hope to encourage others in their Christian walk.
André grew up singing in church on the island of Barbados, joining an Acappella vocal group, called Ask God, at the age of 16. Three tours across the US fuelled André’s passion for songwriting and for seeing others in unabandoned worship. Relocating to the UK and joining his local church increased that passion to see others just release and praise and worship God for who he is. He is now a worship leader at Hilllsong, Kent.
With musical influences that include, Hillsong, Hillsong United, Promise, Mary J Blige, Bob Marley and Michael Jackson, it’s not surprising that André is not confined by any one genre. For him, a genre is simply a tool to be used to convey a message, whichever tool fits it should be used.
“The focus on all my songs is on ‘the one’. The one person, who may be going through a situation, good or bad, and just needs a song to help them sing through it. A song to help them take their eyes off of themselves and that situation and look to God.”
