Eloho is a lady passionate about worship, she’s also very busy. Wife, mother of 3 kids, radio host, writer and organiser of the Engage Night of Worship in Aberdeen. Somehow in between all this she has also managed to squeeze in recording her second album “Unrestrained”!
For a studio album it is strange for someone to introduce their first song, but I like it, because there is a story to tell. There is also an uncontained joy in her voice that is infectious to the listener as she introduces ‘Speechless’.
There are some great arrangements, what captivated me were the different openings to the songs. ‘To Our God’ has a brilliantly dynamic and dramatic opening, a little later a very familiar sounding dance sample opens ‘He’s Alive’. The traditional ‘Holy, Holy, Holy’ is preceded by a reading from Revelation. All this definitely isn’t what I was expecting, there is so much diversity here!
Thankfully this is not a case of all style and no substance. There is some great uplifting praise and worship that would stand up well even if it were stripped of all the bells and whistles. This is of course helped by Eloho’s great vocals which carry well and very much feel like part of the flow in the upbeat tracks.
Eloho loves to praise her Saviour and this album will inspire you to join her, whether up on your feet and dancing or down on your knees in reverence.
